CCTV Monitoring

To help ensure the safety and security of our employees, customers, visitors, business premises, and assets, CCTV cameras operate at selected locations within and around our business premises.

The images recorded by our CCTV system may constitute personal data and are processed in accordance with applicable data protection legislation, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Why We Use CCTV

We use CCTV at all our premises for the following legitimate business purposes:

  • Preventing and detecting crime and anti-social behaviour.

  • Protecting employees, visitors, customers, and contractors.

  • Safeguarding company property and assets.

  • Assisting in the investigation of accidents, incidents, complaints, and breaches of company policies.

  • Supporting health and safety obligations.

CCTV recordings are not used for routine monitoring of employee performance.

Lawful Basis for Processing

Our lawful basis for processing CCTV footage is our legitimate interests in maintaining a safe, secure, and well-managed business environment, together with compliance with our legal and regulatory obligations where applicable.

Storage and Retention

CCTV recordings are stored securely, and access is restricted to authorised personnel only. Footage is retained only for as long as necessary, in line with our internal CCTV policy, to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, unless it is required for an ongoing investigation, legal proceedings, or to meet a legal obligation.

Sharing of CCTV Footage

CCTV footage may be shared where necessary with:

  • Law enforcement agencies.

  • Regulatory or statutory authorities.

  • Insurers, legal advisers, or other professional advisers.

  • Third-party service providers who support our CCTV systems and are subject to appropriate confidentiality and data protection obligations.

We will not disclose CCTV footage to any other third party unless permitted or required by law.

Your Rights

Individuals whose images are captured on our CCTV system may have rights under data protection legislation, including the right to request access to their personal data. A valid Subject Access Request (SAR) will be considered in accordance with applicable legal requirements. Please note that formal photographic identification will be required to vouch the identity of the requester.
