At Friary Mill, we promote the traditional methods of baking. We believe that to make great tasting bread you need to invest time, knowledge and skill. That’s why you won’t find mass-produced loaves in our bakeries. Instead, our team of artisan bakers hand make each loaf and roll from scratch each day.
Our bakers are specially trained and equipped with the knowledge to make fresh, rustic and authentic traditional bread and rolls; they know the exact quantities of each ingredient required, the best order to add them and how to stretch and knead the dough to get the perfect result every time.
In its simplest form, our bread is made up of only basic ingredients, with no additives or flavourings. This is stripped back, traditional, handmade in Devon baking at its best.
